This is our favorite trout river. The Manistee above the dam is like a big spring creek with good hatches, wild fish (Brown, Brook and Rainbow Trout) in an absolute scenic setting. Dry flies to streamers, top to bottom.
Known for its awsome Steelhead and Salmon fishery, consider this river a great destination for trout fall through early summer. Smallmouth bass fishing in the summer months of July & August.
An outstanding river for early Salmon in a smaller river setting starting in mid-August with Steelhead offering anglers opportunities starting in the Fall, through Winter and until the end of April.
This classic trout stream is located minutes from Traverse City and offers Trout fishing on its upper sections and Steelhead and Salmon on its lower sections closer to town.
